Arlene Critzos | Principal/President
Design visions have been a way of life for Arlene Critzos. She has a B.A. degree in design from Mount Vernon College, and she has earned Foreign Study League Art Degrees in the Decorative Arts in London, Holland, Rome and Paris. When Arlene founded Interior Concepts in 1979, she quickly realized that by broadening the design capabilities of her company, she and her staff could work in multiple creative paths. This approach allows Arlene and her highly talented and tenured senior design group to create and complete work in the most professional manner. The firm creates a broad spectrum of design from well-appointed family homes, beach homes, mountain retreats, large flats and estates in some of the most prestigious addresses. Arlene and Interior Concepts, Inc. have worked in England, Spain, the Middle East, Malaysia, China and the United States. Arlene is an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and has been published in numerous national and local magazines.
Cindy Stranger | CEO
Cindy has a rich history in the Washington Metropolitan building industry. Before we found her, she was responsible for taking a home building corporation from $8 million in sales to $65 million in five years. She has a Certificate in Accounting from the University of Virginia and obviously has a head for detail and organization. A wonderful balance to all left brain designing women. With ICI since 1994, Cindy is our corporate vision and legal liaison with a cool head for details and a master at negotiation.
Cathy Belkov | Senior Director of Residential Design
Cathy has been a part of the Residential Design team at Interior Concepts since 1986, working in all facets of Residential Design from small condominiums to grand residences located across the country. She has also worked in the commercial arena, including MCI World Headquarters and numerous commercial firms in the Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia area. Prior to joining ICI, Cathy attended Corcoran School of the Arts and Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, Webster College, and The University of Maryland where graduated after studying Fine Arts, Art History and Interior Design. Because of her background, Cathy approaches her designs with an artistic, eclectic blend combining elements from different classic periods and influences.
Joyce Pearl | Senior Designer
A graduate from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Joyce has been with Interior Concepts since 1983 and is experienced in Residential and Commercial Design. She does not have signature style, rather she strives to create unique interiors that are a collaboration of her clients’ diverse lifestyles, budgetary guidelines and project location along with her professional knowledge and guidance. “Making a difference” in her clients’ homes or work environment is her commitment.
Andrea Blamphin | Senior Residential Designer
Andrea has been a member of Interior Concepts' Residential Design team since 1993. Her education began at the State University of New York at Cobleskill, and then to Cazenovia College to study Interior and Architectural Design. Andrea joined Interior Concepts after moving to the Annapolis area. With experience in all levels of Residential Design, she has been involved in large, private residences in New York, vacation homes in Florida, private ranches in Montana, as well as residences in Maryland and Virginia. Andrea creates comfortable, clean and functional spaces for her clients, tailored to their individual tastes and styles. With a broad range of experience in traditional design as well as contemporary, Andrea is committed to creating comfortable, unique interiors for her clients.
Courtney Griffin | Senior Residential Designer
Courtney began her education by studying Art and Art History, and then quickly developed an interest in interiors, obtaining a degree in Interior Design. She started at Interior Concepts in 2004 and enjoys the challenge of creating beautiful interiors tailored to each client’s individual and personal style. Courtney has worked on many projects in various areas; beach homes in Sea Isle, New Jersey, luxury condominiums in West Palm Beach, Florida, mountain vacation homes in Big Sky, Montana, and many homes in the District of Columbia/Northern Virginia area. She is talented in all styles of design - from contemporary to Tuscan traditional. Courtney prides herself on putting her client's needs first and making the design process easy, fun and rewarding for her clients.
Samantha Sopp-Wittwer | Senior Residential Designer
Sam has been with Interior Concepts since 2012. Interior design is not just a career for her... It’s a passion. What is most important to her is finding the right balance between the client’s lifestyle and design - the end result needs to function for their everyday living. She works on projects of all sizes, from complete design services for multi-million dollar homes to simply helping clients choose the perfect paint colors. In her tenure at ICI, Sam has worked on projects from coast to coast - Florida to Maine, Maryland to the Midwest, and a lot of places in between. Her work can be seen within the pages of Annapolis Home Magazine and Home and Design Magazine. Sam moved to Maryland from Minnesota where she graduated in 2009 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design and where she started her design career working in Commercial Design.
Megan Ligday | Staff Residential Designer
Megan has been an integral part of the Interior Concepts family since she started as an intern while attending Radford University’s four year design program. Megan officially joined Interior Concepts full-time at the end of her senior year in 2014. Her early involvement has provided experience across a broad range of styles - from traditional and contemporary design. She moves forward today as a Residential Staff Designer, co-creating aesthetically pleasing, functional interiors for her team in order to meet the needs & styles of her team’s clients.
