Arlene Critzos | Principal/President
Design visions have been a way of life for Arlene Critzos. She has a B.A. degree in design from Mount Vernon College and has earned Foreign Study League Art Degrees in the Decorative Arts in London, Holland, Rome, and Paris. When Arlene founded Interior Concepts in 1979, she quickly realized that by broadening the design capabilities of her company, she and her staff could work in multiple creative paths. This approach allows Arlene and her highly talented and tenured senior design group to create and complete work in the most professional manner. The firm creates a broad spectrum of designs from well-appointed family homes, beach homes, mountain retreats, large flats, and estates in some of the most prestigious addresses. Arlene and Interior Concepts, Inc. has worked in England, Spain, the Middle East, Malaysia, China, and the United States. Arlene is an active American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) member and has been published in numerous national and local magazines.
Juliet Casey | Chief Executive Officer
Juliet Casey has been an integral part of Interior Concepts, Inc. since joining in 2017. With a Bachelor's degree from George Washington University and a Master's in Business Administration, Juliet's education has been focused on business and technology, making her a valuable asset to the company. Juliet's technology and business solutions expertise has been critical in creating efficiencies and driving success for Interior Concepts. She is highly solutions-oriented, always seeking to implement the latest technologies and best practices to achieve operational excellence. As CEO, Juliet oversees the company's daily operations and sets comprehensive goals for business growth and success. She is committed to working closely with all teams and departments to ensure that all goals and objectives are met and that the company is positioned for long-term success.
Maura Welsh | Vice President of Operations & Director of HR
Maura is an experienced operations and human resources leader with over a decade of success driving organizational growth, streamlining processes, and building strong, people-focused cultures. As Vice President of Operations and Director of HR at Interior Concepts, Inc., she leads company-wide operations and HR strategy to support performance and employee engagement.
What makes her role especially meaningful is her passion for interior design. Working in a field that blends creativity and functionality allows Maura to connect her professional expertise with a personal interest, bringing added energy and perspective to her work and supporting teams that create impactful spaces.
Maura holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from The Catholic University of America.
Samantha Sopp-Wittwer | Lead Senior Residential Designer & MHD Design Manager
Sam has been with Interior Concepts since 2012. Interior design is more than just a career for her, it’s a passion. What matters most is finding the right balance between her clients’ lifestyles and the design itself, ensuring each space functions beautifully for everyday living.
She works on projects of all sizes including complete design services for multi-million dollar homes. In her tenure at ICI, Sam has worked on projects from coast to coast and abroad. Her work has been featured in Annapolis Home Magazine, Home & Design Magazine, and Park City Magazine.
Originally from Minnesota, Sam moved to Maryland after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design in 2009, where she began her career in commercial design.
Joyce Pearl | Lead Senior Residential Designer
Joyce brings over 40 years of continuous experience with Interior Concepts and offers deep knowledge and design expertise in both luxury residential and commercial design. She does not have a signature style; instead, she strives to create unique interiors that reflect her clients’ diverse lifestyles, budgetary guidelines, and project locations. By listening carefully to clients’ needs, maintaining strong attention to detail, and using a structured approach to project management, she consistently delivers successful outcomes. “Making a difference” in her clients’ homes and work environments is her commitment.
Courtney Griffin | Lead Senior Residential Designer
Courtney began her education in Art and Art History before earning her degree in Interior Design. She joined Interior Concepts in 2004 and brings extensive experience across a wide range of projects and locations.
Her work includes beach homes in New Jersey, luxury condominiums in Florida, mountain retreats in Montana, and residences throughout the Washington, D.C. area. Courtney is well-versed in a variety of styles, from contemporary to Tuscan traditional, allowing her to tailor each design to her clients’ vision. With a strong focus on client experience, Courtney creates interiors that are both beautiful and thoughtfully designed, making the process seamless and enjoyable from start to finish.
Megan Grimes | Lead Senior Residential Designer
Megan joined ICI in 2022 after spending ten years in the Midwest practicing high-end residential and boutique hospitality interior design. She majored in Interior Design with a minor in Art and Architectural History and loves all things artistic. While she calls her style “well-traveled maximalist,” she can cater to various aesthetics and is always up for a challenge. Highly organized and detail-oriented, Megan is meticulous in her approach to project management and believes in striving for perfection. She loves color, texture, form and function, art, and artistic application. Her favorite thing about working in residential design is creating beautifully unique spaces for her clients to fall in love with, designing rooms that are an experience, and emphasizing each client’s way of living.
Kelly Critzos | Lead Senior Residential Designer
Kelly began working at Interior Concepts in 2015 as an intern – it didn’t take long for her to realize she had found a home. Since attaining her degree from the University of Virginia, Kelly has been an integral residential staff member, working on projects in various styles. She has a keen eye for detail and a deep passion for creativity. Kelly is willing to listen and get to know the client’s needs but also understands the importance of providing professional advice and keeping on budget. Her goal is to take the stress out of the process and create a beautiful space that invokes a sense of charm, style, and warmth.
Morgan Humphreys | Senior Associate Residential Designer
Morgan is from Frederick, MD, and a proud member of the ICI team since January 2022. A graduate of High Point University with a BS in Interior Design and a minor in Italian culture and language, Morgan draws inspiration from her passion for travel and global design. Her favorite part of the job is witnessing clients' joy as they experience their space's transformation. Known for her problem-solving prowess, Morgan's most significant contribution lies in her ability to craft tailored solutions that perfectly align with clients' needs. With an eye for detail and a commitment to client satisfaction, she consistently delivers projects that seamlessly blend aesthetics and functionality. Beyond her design endeavors, Morgan enjoys exploring new places and soaking up inspiration from diverse cultures, ensuring her work remains dynamic and innovative.
